ALOHA FROM OAHU'S NORTH SHORE

Tour professionals launch the exciting 2009 official LPGA season at the SBS OPEN on the North Shore of Oahu. From February 9 - 14, 2009, the first full-field competition of the year takes aim at Turtle Bay Resort’s Palmer Course.

This past February Annika Sorenstam made her return to the winner’s circle with a record-setting 70th LPGA career victory at the SBS OPEN at Turtle Bay. A 10-under par 206 54-hole score put her two strokes ahead of a trio of pros, Laura Diaz, Angela Park and Russy Gulyanamitta.  Sorenstam, winless on the LPGA Tour since September, 2006, won $165,000 as tournament champion in her first appearance at the $1,100,000 2008 event. She rolled in a birdie on the 16th and a 24-foot birdie at 17, to add the proper punctuation mark to an exciting 10-under par 206 finish.
